Adrian
Morris. PPRNCM.
In 1999 Adrian was appointed as Principal Bass Trombone with The Hallé Orchestra in Manchester, a position he still holds. He is also Professor of Bass Trombone at The Royal Northern College of Music and Salford University.
During his time Adrian has played with many of the country’s leading orchestras, and has performed in most of Europe's finest Concert Halls. His website is here.
Andrew
May is a Double Reed specialist.
After studying in Edinburgh, he worked
in the workshop of a major orchestral retailer in the south-west of England
for over 2 years. Since his return to Edinburgh in 2000, he worked at
The Wind Section, building a reputation for top quality Double Reed repairs,
as well as doing all the admin. Andy has now set up on his own.
Originally a clarinettist, he now plays bassoon with a local community
orchestra and can be seen playing bodhran (and occasionally bass clarinet
and bassoon!) in folk sessions in and around Edinburgh. Andy's website

He and his brother Don trade as Woodwind & Co, one of the most respected
woodwind repair companies in the North of England. Eddie, the author
of the Clarinet and Saxophone First Aid Doctors, lectures on repairs and
maintenance at Chethams School, Manchester and the Royal Northern College
of Music, Manchester.
Don is the co-author of the Professional Saxophone Fingering Chart.
As well as a respected repairer, Don is an equally respected teacher and
writer on the saxophone.
The
late Professor Sebastian Bell FRAM, Hon RCM
Born in the UK his professional career included: Sadler's Wells Opera,
Principal Flute with BBC Welsh Orchestra, Principal and Solo Flute with
London Sinfonietta. Recordings include: Toward the Sea by
Toru Takemitsu with John Williams, and George Benjamin's Antara, winner
of 1990 Gramophone Contemporary Music Award. He is also a flute technician,
specialising in old French instruments. He is the co-author of the Professional
Flute Fingering Chart.
It was with great sadness that we learned of his untimely death at the
age of 65 in September 2007.
Author of the Recorder Technique Doctor, and the Professional Recorder
Fingering Chart, Peter is lecturer in
instrumental studies at Christchurch College, Canterbury. He is
also the founder of the UK Branch of the European Recorder Teachers Association
and current Chairman. He has written extensively about Recorder
Technique and teaching principles.
Co-founder of Dr Downing Music. Sandra devised the original concept
with the Bassoon Reed Doctor, and co-authors and edits the series with
Peter Moore.
Author of the Cello Technique Doctor. Formerly Principal Cellist
in the BBC Radio Orchestra, Sylvia studied at the Royal Academy of Music,
London. A busy freelance performer, Sylvia also teaches and practices
creative music therapy.
Nadia
Lasserson ARAM, ARCM, GRSM BMus(Lond.)
Author of the Piano Technique Doctor. Mann's Memorial
Prize winner while a student at the Royal Academy of Music, Nadia is an
experienced performer of concertos, lieder and chamber music and has a
wide experience of piano teaching. Head of Keyboard and Chamber Music
at James Allens Girls' School, Dulwich, England, Nadia also teaches privately
and at Trinity College of Music Junior Department, London, England.
A festival adjudicator and an Examiner for the Associated
Board of the Royal Schools of Music, Nadia is the founder of the London
Piano Quartet (8 hands, 2 pianos). A firm believer in the value of ensemble
playing for pianists, Nadia runs ensemble workshops in the UK and abroad
Co-founder of Dr Downing Music and co-author of the Clarinet, Flute,
and Saxophone Doctors. His latest book, "Playing the Clarinet is
Easy!" has become our worldwide best-seller.

Ward
Author of the Violin & Viola Technique Doctor, Justin, viola specialist,
enjoys a musical career involving almost every aspect of the musical profession.
From film sessions to chamber music; Wagner's Ring cycle to late night
cabaret and teaching amateur players of all abilities.
Author of the Cornet and Trumpet Technique Doctor.
Formerly Principal Trumpet with the CBC (Winnipeg) Orchestra, Bram has
played with every major English orchestra. Bram's publications cover
a wide range of educational music for brass.
